SignTalk®, The Resource for Sign Language Interpreters, is honored to have been selected to provide sign language interpreters for yesterday's ServiceNation Presidential Forum held at Columbia University. Presidential candidates, Barack Obama and John McCain, expressed their views on “service and civic engagement in the post-9/11, post-Katrina world." This non partisan VIP event was moderated by Time magazine editor Richard Stengel and PBS "News Hour" anchor Judy Woodruff.
To make the event accessible to Deaf and hard-of-hearing students and faculty, our esteemed colleagues, Laurie Nash, CI/CT and Debbie Olsen, CI/CT/NIC, were selected as the platform interpreters. SignTalk® would like thank them for their outstanding work. The included photos were taken by Maria Jimenez, SignTalk® Program Manager, who coordinated the event and met with the Election Productions president hours before to ensure that all went seamlessly and highest professional standards were met.
